This robotic sculpture was purchased with a lot of 80 other sculptures. It was constructed in the early 1980s. It was made from a life-size fiberglass mannequen, wooden mannequin arms, and a styrofoam head with what looks to be a cast plaster face. It is silver and it stands upon a black wooden stand.
Its arms bend at the elbow and shoulders and can be posed as one so desires.
This piece is one of over 80 pieces purchased in a robot art collection. Seller was told that all sculptures were created by San Diego artist Drew Wayland, yet has no proof. Either way this robotic figure would be a welcomed treasure to be added to anyone s collection.
Note that it has three electric cords that feed into an electric power strip mounted onto the stand: one for a working radio that is attached to its back, a second that goes to a light in its chest, and a third that goes to a light in its head.
Although both lights and radio were tested and working, they all should be re-wired or at the very least they must be looked at by an electrician to make sure they are safe.
